KIMBERLY STOKES
ARTIST
ARTIST
Kimberly Stokes is an emerging artist living on Yugambeh Land (Gold Coast), who examines the effects of digital culture on perceptions of self. Her art addresses how conventional engagement with the internet and social networking sites, facilitates a continuous fragmentation, adaptation and dissemination of identity.
As of 2020, Stokes is a co-founder and acting co-director at NEXTDOOR Artist Run Initiative; a not-for-profit organisation that exists to champion the experimental practices of early career contemporary artists, based in Brisbane. She is CURRENTLY engaging in a three-month residency at Level Up Studio + Gallery, in Coolangatta.
